Football Recap: Grossmont Piles Up the Points Against Valhalla

Grossmont waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 38-8 victory over the Valhalla Norsemen. The Foothillers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Grossmont was led to victory by Tyler Holmes and Corbin Dow. Holmes threw for 193 yards and three TDs, while Dow rushed for 86 yards and a pair of scores. A healthy portion of Holmes' aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Randy Ballard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Grossmont's run defense was locked in: Valhalla could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Gage Weichelt for the heroic effort on defense: he. Grossmont hasn't allowed more than 3.2 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.

Grossmont's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Vinny Michelson, Ryder Robinson, and Maddox Yeargan, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Grossmont's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Valhalla, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
