The North Wake S Saints had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Wake Prep Academy 50-0 at home. Considering North Wake S has won seven matchups by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
North Wake S had a senior duo take command as Sema'J Davis gained 146 total yards and three touchdowns and Jordan Reid rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Reid was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
North Wake S's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 9.5 times. The heavy lifting was done by Tre Mcintyre and Avery Hall who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
North Wake S's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Sandhills T and 2-7 Wake Prep Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.2% over those games). As for Wake Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
North Wake S will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Wake at 7:00 p.m. Wake Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
