Northwestern will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Patterson at 6:30 PM. Northwestern have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Last week, Northwestern couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 13-18 to DuVal. Northwestern got a solid performance out of junior Robert Taylor, who rushed for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 13 tackles Taylor was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Patterson had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They suffered a grim 12-42 defeat to Flowers.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies that hunger and which team leaves with an empty belly.
