Basketball Recap: Salisbury Takes a Loss

Salisbury scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They were outmatched by the Van-Far Indians and fell 79-50. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van-Far to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pacey Reading, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaven Gaston, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Salisbury's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Van-Far, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salisbury will head out to challenge Knox County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van-Far, they will venture away from home to face off against North Callaway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Van-Far is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
