Softball Recap: St. Pius X Wins Going Away Against Grants

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Albuquerque, St. Pius X was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Grants Pirates with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sartans, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Diamor Ibarra-Villegas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Amari Jaramillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Grants, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pius X will face off against Lovington at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grants, they will take on Capital at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
