It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past Twin River 53-51. For Lyons-Decatur Northeast, this counts as revenge for the 49-40 defeat Twin River walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lyons-Decatur Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Hegge, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaden Knaak, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Twin River, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oakland-Craig at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Oakland-Craig is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Twin River, they will face off against West Point-Beemer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully West Point-Beemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
