The Cambridge Academy Cougars were the 36-29 winner over the Curtis Baptist Crusaders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cambridge Academy fell 52-39 to Curtis Baptist on Tuesday.
Curtis Baptist found their leader in underclassman Maci Butler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Butler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Robinson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Cambridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Curtis Baptist, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Cambridge Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Easley HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Curtis Baptist, they will head out on the road to take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
