The Catasauqua Rough Riders's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pen Argyl and snuck past 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Catasauqua has posted yet this season.
Despite the loss, Pen Argyl saw an underclassman step up: Mason Soos scored 13 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Jack Mclaughlin, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pen Argyl were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Catasauqua's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Pen Argyl, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
Catasauqua will head out on the road to challenge Palmerton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Palmerton's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Catasauqua has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Pen Argyl will take on Palisades at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Palisades comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
