Eagle faced Coeur d'Alene in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Vikings 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Peyton Bargen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. Bargen was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Alyssa Orchard was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Eagle's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Coeur d'Alene, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 18-3 record.
