Malvern Prep waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Devon Prep Tide with a sharp 9-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Friars, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 26-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Devon Prep, they moved to 8-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malvern Prep will challenge Penncrest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Devon Prep, they will square off against Neumann-Goretti at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Tide's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
