The Santa Fe Chiefs will venture away from home to square off against the Lone Jack Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lone Jack will be up against a hot Santa Fe squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Chiefs' way against Midway on Monday as they made off with a 20-4 victory. The Chiefs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

JoHanna Breshears and Tatum Fitzwater made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Breshears pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fitzwater struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Breshears went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Fitzwater went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Breshears a new career-high.
In other batting news, Santa Fe let Keastin Kitchen and Brooke Dierking run wild. Kitchen got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Dierking got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Kitchen a new career-high. Audrey Finkeldi was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Santa Fe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lone Jack got the win against Orrick on Thursday by a conclusive 20-1. The Mules have beaten the Bearcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bearcats has come to flipping the script.
Santa Fe's record now sits at 5-7-1. As for Lone Jack, their record is now 9-5.
Santa Fe suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Lone Jack when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
