The South Pointe Stallions came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwestern on Tuesday and snuck past 43-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Pointe also won the last time the pair played back in January.
South Pointe can attribute much of their success to Caymen Finch, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Hayden-Barber, who scored six points.
Northwestern lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylan Moore, who scored 14 points. Theron Young was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
South Pointe's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16. As for Northwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
South Pointe will head out on the road to challenge York at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. York is coming into the contest with seven straight losses at home, meaning South Pointe will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Northwestern will take on Catawba Ridge at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Catawba Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
