When it comes to explaining why Franklin Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Alicot. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alicot has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Robert Guishard, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Sheridan Hills Christian found their leader in underclassman Micah Smith, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Seay, who scored 15 points along with six assists.
Franklin Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will take on Avant Garde Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Avant Garde Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cushman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cushman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
