Vero Beach has gone a perfect 4-0 against Heritage recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Indians will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vero Beach has four straight wins, Heritage has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Vero Beach had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Okeechobee on Tuesday. The Indians blew past the Brahmans 13-1. Considering the Indians have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Colt Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other pitching news, Brandon Walker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Caleb Wood was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jordan Tomas was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Vero Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Viera hit Heritage with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 14-1 to the Hawks.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Vero Beach, their record is now 8-2.
Vero Beach got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February against Heritage by a conclusive 12-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
