Springfield Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past Juniata Christian with points to spare, taking the game 54-38. Springfield Christian Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Smith, who scored 11 points. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Houk, who scored eight points.
Springfield Christian Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5. As for Juniata Christian, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Springfield Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Community Baptist Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Juniata Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridgeport Baptist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
