The Campbell County Camels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They suffered a rough 83-63 loss at the hands of Pine Ridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Campbell County still got an impressive performance from Lane Hladky, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hladky has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Andela, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Pine Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Rouillard, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 4 assists. Rouillard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Marvin Richard lll was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Campbell County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Pine Ridge, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Campbell County will head out on the road to take on the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Pine Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. St. Stephens knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Thorpes like a good challenge.
