The Pace Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Pine Forest Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pace is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Pace had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Tate on Friday. The Patriots blew past the Aggies 30-8. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Pace, adding 12 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Caleb Nelson: he added nine points with three field goals and another three kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last contest, Pine Forest made sure to put some points up on the board against Booker T. Washington on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 32-9 margin over the Wildcats. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
Pace better keep an eye on Char'Son Floyd. He was instrumental in Pine Forest's win, rushing for 80 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards.
Pine Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Pace's record is now 6-1. As for Pine Forest, their record now sits at 2-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Pace has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 392.3 total yards per game. It's a different story for Pine Forest, though, as they've been averaging only 238.8 total yards. Will Pace be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Eagles flip the script?
Everything went Pace's way against Pine Forest when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Pace made off with a 29-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
