Softball Recap: Independence Has No Trouble Against Ripley

Independence got themselves on the board against Ripley on Tuesday, but Ripley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kassidy Bradbury, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Acasia Cook, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Ripley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Independence will head out to face off against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ripley, they will welcome Chapmanville Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
