After three games on the road, Butler is heading back home. They will take on the Garinger Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Butler came up short against Independence and fell 52-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Butler has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Butler got a solid performance out of Tyler Showalter, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Reece Starnes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Garinger's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Providence on the road by a decisive 67-48 margin. That's two games in a row now that Garinger has lost by exactly 19 points.
Butler's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Garinger, their loss was their 20th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Everything came up roses for Butler against Garinger in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 88-50 victory. Will Butler repeat their success, or does Garinger have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
