Even though the Roscommon Bucks have not done well against the Northern Michigan Christian Comets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Roscommon slipped by Northern Michigan Christian 30-29. Given Roscommon's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Northern Michigan Christian is ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Roscommon found their leader in underclassman Zoey Kauffman, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kauffman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The win was the third in a row for Roscommon, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. As for Northern Michigan Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Roscommon will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Beal City at 7:00 p.m. As for Northern Michigan Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Manton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
