After flying high against the Doctors Charter Hawks last Thursday, the North Miami Beach Chargers came back down to earth. North Miami Beach was the victim of a tough 88-68 loss at the hands of Divine Savior Academy on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (56), North Miami Beach still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why North Miami Beach lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaycob Joseph. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Joseph's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Dixson Brumaire, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
North Miami Beach has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Divine Savior Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Miami Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Westland Hialeah at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Westland Hialeah will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Divine Savior Academy, they will play host again and welcome Chaminade-Madonna, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chaminade-Madonna is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
