The Independence Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Page Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Independence 3.6, Page 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Independence barely beat Centennial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Cougars 12-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Bella Hernandez made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Hernandez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Reagan Maxon and Stella Weaver did most of the damage at the plate: Maxon went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Weaver went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Weaver has posted over her last 12 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Riebe, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Page entered their tilt with Middle Tennessee Christian on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They skirted past the Cougars 7-5.
The team relied heavily on Avery Skiles, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Riley Vaughan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Independence's record now sits at 10-3. As for Page, their record is now 8-2.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Independence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Page struggles in that department as they've averaged .406. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Independence couldn't quite finish off Page in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
