Williams has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Hamilton Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Williams had to settle for a 54-52 defeat against the Panthers.
Despite their defeat, Williams saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kyden Bowen, who scored 30 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Miguel Murillo, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Hamilton pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Biggs. Hamilton has not had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Like Williams, Hamilton lost despite seeing results from several players. Kayden Strong led the charge by scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That was a full 37.3% of Hamilton's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Porter, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Williams' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Hamilton, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Williams didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Braves in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Strong, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Williams still be able to contain Strong? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
