Wells will take on McDermitt at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Last Friday, Wells faced Eureka in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wells suffered a grim 30-56 defeat to Eureka. Wells's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Zane Rodriguez, who accumulated 188 passing yards and picked up 58 yards on the ground. In fact, with 12 tackles Rodriguez was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: McDermitt lost to Owyhee, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 31-78. McDermitt were down by 31-58 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Wells simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat McDermitt 64-0. Will Wells repeat their success, or does McDermitt have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
