Middle College had to settle for second on Wednesday, but Shawn Herring sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Herring as he scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Middle College's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Herring and Middle College will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Memphis Central at 5:00 p.m. Herring had to take a loss the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their contest back in March 18-3.
