Spring has gone 8-2 against Benjamin Davis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Spring beat Westfield 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Allen Moore made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Moore was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had over his last 11 games.
In other batting news, Joshua Porter was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Moises Arb, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Davis won against Eisenhower on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Falcons never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 win.
Like Spring, Benjamin Davis also got a great game from a two-way player: Adan Ramirez. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Ramirez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Benjamin Davis is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Ramirez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Rashon Enard was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Benjamin Davis' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Darwin Virtudazo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Benjamin Davis' victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Spring, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Spring skirted past Benjamin Davis 11-10 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
