After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kearney, The Belton Pirates were happy to have found some success on Friday. They put the hurt on Ruskin with a sharp 43-19 win. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Belton's seven-point performance the matchup before.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adarious Brown, who threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
Belton's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ruskin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Belton will square off against Webb City at TBD on Friday. Webb City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belton in Missouri (Webb City is ranked 18th, while Belton is ranked 106th). Ruskin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
