Basketball Game Preview: Master's Hand Christian Warriors vs. Marshall Christian Academy Stallions

The Master's Hand Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Marshall Christian Academy Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Master's Hand Christian has six straight wins, Marshall Christian Academy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Master's Hand Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 75-62 victory over Pineview Christian on Saturday. Given Master's Hand Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Pineview Christian is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Braedon Canuteson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Canuteson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Branson Solomon, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Marshall Christian Academy came up short against Mt. Pleasant Christian on Tuesday, falling 58-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Stallions have suffered against the Lions since February 4, 2022.

Master's Hand Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Marshall Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Master's Hand Christian strolled past Marshall Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November by a score of 63-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Master's Hand Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
