The South Mecklenburg Sabres put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Mill Creek with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Given South Mecklenburg's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in North Carolina, while Mill Creek is ranked 157th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anderson Skelton was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yariel Chudgar, who scored 17 points.
South Mecklenburg's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Mill Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
