The Mountain View Mountain Lions fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Thompson Valley Eagles on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (67), Mountain View still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Bradey Messinger, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Messinger has scored all season. Dylan Garland was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Even though they lost, Mountain View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Thompson Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Mountain View will head out on the road to challenge Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Niwot is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Thompson Valley will take on Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Morgan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
