Basketball Recap: American Heritage Academy Piles Up the Points Against Verde Valley

American Heritage Academy hadn't done well against Verde Valley recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. American Heritage Academy breezed by the Verde Valley Coyotes to the tune of 58-28. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-11.

American Heritage Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Verde Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Heritage Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Orme at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Orme has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Verde Valley will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Telesis Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
