The Sheldon Huskies were the 36-22 winner over the Turlock Bulldogs when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Sheldon took a serious blow against Turlock on Friday, falling 57-14. While losing is never fun, Sheldon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Turlock is ranked 133rd).
Despite the defeat, Sheldon had strong showings from Brandon Acker, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Zayden Learson, who gained 106 total yards and a touchdown.
Turlock was led to victory by Vincent Gonzales and Jeremiah Bertalotto. Gonzales threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes, while Bertalotto gained 188 total yards and two touchdowns.
Sheldon now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Turlock, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Sheldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Turlock will face off against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
