Softball Recap: Bentonville Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Bentonville won against Bentonville West on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Tigers beat the Wolverines by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Darby Burnett tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bentonville got a massive performance out of Tayor Chrisp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Chrisp has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Wyman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

The win made it two in a row for Bentonville and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Bentonville West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
