The Meade Mustangs won the last time they faced the Annapolis Panthers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Meade strolled past Annapolis with points to spare, taking the game 64-45. Given Meade's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Annapolis is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Josh Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was James Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Meade has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Annapolis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Meade and Glen Burnie will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Annapolis, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South River at 6:45 p.m. South River is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
