The Hilmar Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 48-35 to Livingston. Hilmar lost against Livingston in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-58 score last time.
Hilmar's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Baballe, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Jason Moniz was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Livingston found their leader in underclassman Adrian Aguirre, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Aguirre's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zacharian Duran, who scored seven points.
Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Livingston, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Hilmar will be playing in front of their home fans against Justin Garza at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Orestimba at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Orestimba focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday.
