Despite the defeat, Steele Canyon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Jackel threw for 181 yards and five touchdowns. 90 of those passing yards were hauled in by Kaliani Ewing.
Steele Canyon now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Steele Canyon has already played their next contest, a 35-13 loss against Francis Parker on the 1st. Canyon Crest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
