Farmington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kapiolani Anitielu led the charge by scoring 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Anitielu is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chenoa Parrish, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sandia on the road against West Mesa on Tuesday as the team secured a 68-22 win. With Sandia ahead 55-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for Sandia, their win bumped their record up to an identical 19-2.
Farmington suffered a grim 64-42 defeat to Sandia when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sandia's Sydney Benally, who scored 28 points.
