The Maryvale Panthers lost against the Alhambra Lions two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Maryvale took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Maryvale has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Maryvale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabel Aguirre, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aguirre has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Valerie A paniagua chavez, who scored two points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Maryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Alhambra, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Carl Hayden Community the next time they take the court. Maryvale will head out to face the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
