Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask United). They really took it to the Del Rio Rams for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-10 victory. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Rams are ranked 711th) , the win on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead United to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colt Lozano, who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lozano's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 receiving yards. Jesse Garcia-Perez also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.
United's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Eric Hernandez, Dariel Trevizo, and Humberto Salas, who each picked up one sack apiece. United got some further help from Hernandez: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
The win (which was United's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games. As for Del Rio, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
