The Temple Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Davenport.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Davenport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Gaston, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Gaston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Castilla, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Temple has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season. As for Davenport, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple will square off against the Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Copperas Cove is ranked 753rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 772nd). As for Davenport, they will head out on the road to challenge the BULLDOGS at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
