The Sparta Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-27 walloping at the hands of Onalaska. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sparta has scored all season.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillian Berg, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Sparta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Onalaska, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will face off against Aquinas at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Aquinas' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Sparta has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Onalaska will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Prairie du Chien at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
