Lloyd Memorial is 8-2 against Ludlow since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Cecilia Kuhn-Stevenson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Allison Floyd, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Ludlow brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Calvary Christian 14-5 on Saturday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Evie Orsua made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ludlow got a massive performance out of Shelby Ralston, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Charlotte Burke was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Ludlow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Lloyd Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Ludlow, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-15.
Ludlow's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lloyd Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. It's a different story for Ludlow, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Lloyd Memorial's hitters?
Lloyd Memorial suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Ludlow in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Juggernauts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
