Summit Christian Academy will challenge Wesleyan Christian on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close matchup.
Last Friday, Summit Christian Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Yale, falling 14-62. Summit Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from freshman Wyatt Austin, who picked up 51 yards on the ground and accumulated 126 passing yards. In fact, with 15 tackles Austin was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian were fully in charge, breezing past Wilson-Henryetta 46-0. The Wesleyan Christian offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Wesleyan Christian's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Summit Christian Academy's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Wesleyan Christian's success rolls on or if Summit Christian Academy are able to steal their positive momentum.
