The Chippewa Hills Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 13th straight defeat. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harrison.
Despite the defeat, Chippewa Hills saw an underclassman step up: Kiara White dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. White continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Even though they lost, Chippewa Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chippewa Hills' defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Harrison, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Chippewa Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-23 loss vs. Grant on the 9th. Harrison will head out on the road to square off against Meridian on Friday. Meridianpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harrison in Michigan (Meridian is ranked 37th, while Harrison is ranked 595th).
