With a playoff game on the line, the Argyle Eagles rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Bulldogs on the road to the tune of 49-14. The victory was familiar territory for Argyle who now have ten in a row.
Maguire Gasperson was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 316 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. Will Hodson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Argyle's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Hudson Emeterio was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Argyle's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Wylie, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Argyle will take on Colleyville Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colleyville Heritage is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Wylie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
