The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-34 win over Alhambra. Given Clayton Valley Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Clayton Valley Charter to victory were James Moore and Elijah Perryman. Moore dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Perryman scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. Perryman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Underwood, who scored seven points.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Torrance Avery, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jaimison Krause was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The victory (which was Clayton Valley Charter's third in a row) raised their record to 17-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Alhambra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.
Clayton Valley Charter will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alhambra, they will be playing at home against the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Miramonte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.
