While Marist's  win against Elmira wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  10-9  victory over the Falcons  on Thursday. Marist got a  massive  performance out of  Tizita Martin, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.  Sophia Lydon was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 Marist was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .400 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Marist's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-0. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.0 runs this season. As for Elmira, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
 Looking ahead, Marist will face off against Scappoose at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four matches. As for Elmira, they will take on South Umpqua at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
