There's no place like home for the Round Mountain Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Tonopah by a score of 44-37 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Round Mountain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Round Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laycii Thibodeaux led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thibodeaux has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Faga, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Round Mountain pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tonopah, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Round Mountain will head out on the road to square off against Pahranagat Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Pahranagat Valley: 26.5, Round Mountain: 29.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Tonopah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Indian Springs will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
