The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a  77-59 bruising from Lebanon. Mt. Vernon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lebanon apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in December of 2019.
 Lebanon's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Madison Myers, who  dropped  a double-double on 21 points and 13  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Bodie Cox, who  scored 11 points along with 8  steals.
 Mt. Vernon now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lebanon, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will  challenge Cassville at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Lebanon won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Clever at 5:30  p.m.  on December 1st.
