Colleyville Heritage is 9-1 against Richland since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Colleyville Heritage Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Richland Royals at 5:45 p.m. Hopefully Colleyville Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
Even though Colleyville Heritage has not done well against Argyle recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Colleyville Heritage secured a 45-39 W over Argyle. The win was all the more spectacular given Colleyville Heritage's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Argyle is ranked 18th).
Journee Hampton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Suliane Davis, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Richland suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Argyle, falling 71-25. Richland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.
The victory (which was Colleyville Heritage's third in a row) raised their record to 18-9. As for Richland, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Colleyville Heritage beat Richland 46-36 in their previous matchup on January 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colleyville Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
